Nursing Home

                 Nursing Home Visit
By: Ashlia , Clara and Natalie

On Friday the 2nd May, we went to the Bass Hill Nursing Home. We sang songs, talked to the elderly people and had some fun. We sang ‘I am the light’, The rainbow song and our school song. We talked about what they liked about school, when they were young and we tried to make them feel young again.

At Bass Hill nursing home, they care for the elderly,
in a quiet street. At the nursing home, the staff  cook food for the elderly. Also at the nursing home, there is a hairdresser available and the elderly can have their laundry cleaned. They also have regular church services for elderly. The family and friends of the elderly can visit them and be involved in activities throughout their visit. The people who help make their meals for the elderly. The elderly have a fun hour in the nursing home.

It is available 24/7 every day and the family members can visit anytime. The nursing home was there for the past 30 years, and residents their enjoy their time there. The nursing home we visited, is called ‘Allity’.
At the nursing home in Bass Hill, it was approximately a 15 minute walk, from Christ The King to Bass Hill Nursing Home. When we arrived at the nursing home, there were beautiful artworks that hung on the walls of the nursing

Here are some Year 5 student’s thoughts about the nursing home visit:

Matthew D: I thought it was very exciting but a long walk,  but overall it was a pretty good trip. We got to sing to them and meeting them and also making them feel good.

Thomas: I thought it was nice.

Natalie: I thought it was great fun.

Ashlia: It was great fun and the old people are really nice.

Clara: I thought it was really fun to sing songs,  and get to know the elderly.
