#ijumpupanddown4kids

Rendered Image

By Stephanie and Julie-Anne

Today we took photos of us jumping up and down against the detention of refugee children in Australia and Nauru. Miss Lee gave us a letter to decorate so that we could then take a photo of us one by one which makes a word after we were all done we made a youtube video which is called  #IJUMPUPANDDOWN4KIDS

We are doing this because there are more than 600 children that are being put in immigration detention. Putting children in detention will not only hurts them, but ruins their childhood.  We realise that not everyone is as lucky as we are and we think it is wrong that there are children our age in detention.

Check out our video:

Keep jumping up and down against the detention of refugee children in Australia and Nauru!

    4. Thanks for watching our video. I think all children have the right to be safe at home with their family. I think it is unfair that refugee children are looked up in detention. If Anh Do was looked up as a refugee instead of being welcomed into Australia we would not have is funny videos to watch and stories to read,

    6. Hi Joanna
      Thanks for watching the video!
I really enjoyed making and decorating the letters. I also had so much fun for jumping up and down 4 kids. I think putting refugee children in detention is very wrong. All kids should have the right to be safe and have a home. It is unfair and cruel to do this to children. I thought we're better than this!

      Kind regards
      Georgia

I jump up and down 4 kids!

    8. Thanks for watching our video the issue makes me think of the books that we have looked at ( The little refugee & Boy overboard because they both have a story telling that kids got transported into another country without there parents.

    9. Thanks for watching it was really fun to make, I can't imagine what it would be like to be locked up like those children are. I think it's very unfair that they have to live like that. I believe that #Ijumpupanddownforkids is a great campaign to raise awareness. Thanks once again for watching

    10. Thank for watching our video. I think that all children have the right to a safe home, Miss Lee's brother Michael told us about the rights of the child. This year is 25 years since the UN rights of the child was written. It is really important that refugee children should not be locked up because they did not do anything. I had fun making the video.

      Kind Regards

I think putting refugee children in detention centre is very disappointing because I bet any child would not want to be felt hurt or to commit suicide or even parents wouldn't want the same for there children. Also every child has a right to be happy and to feel happy and what Australia is doing to these kids are very bad and this just makes Australia a terrible and not welcoming place. Also Miss Lee's brother Michael taught us all of the children's right and so we have learnt a lot.

    Sincerly yours,
